We want you to know exactly how DryRoute works and how we are paid. This page explains our relationship with the providers you may be connected with.
DryRoute Is a Referral Service
DryRoute is a referral service, not a restoration contractor. When you call a DryRoute number, your call is routed to an independent local water damage restoration provider that serves your ZIP code.
- DryRoute is not a water damage restoration company.
- DryRoute does not employ the people who inspect or work on your home.
- The provider you speak with runs their own separate business.
Who the Providers Are
Calls are routed to independent local providers, who are expected to hold any licenses their area requires. Providers are also expected to carry the registrations and insurance their state and city require for the work they do.
Requirements vary by location, and DryRoute does not inspect or supervise providers’ work. Before hiring anyone, ask to see their license, proof of insurance and written pricing.
How DryRoute Is Paid
Providers pay DryRoute for referrals. In most cases, DryRoute or its call network is paid when a call meets certain standards, such as a minimum call length from a caller with a genuine need for service.
- You do not pay DryRoute to call.
- Payment from providers may affect which provider in your area receives your call.
- Provider payments do not change the information in our guides.
What DryRoute Does Not Do
DryRoute does not:
- Perform any water removal, drying, cleanup or repair work.
- Set, review or approve prices. The provider sets all pricing.
- Promise availability, timing, quality or results.
- Handle, file or negotiate insurance claims.
- Endorse any particular provider over others.
Call Recording
Calls may be recorded by DryRoute’s call network or by the provider who answers, for quality and billing. Recordings help confirm whether a call qualifies for payment and help resolve disputes. See our privacy policy for more detail.
Our Content
Our guides are written to be useful whether or not you call. We base them on public sources such as the EPA, FEMA and the industry’s IICRC S500 standard. We do not publish fake reviews, testimonials or ratings.
Choosing a Provider
You are always free to decide whether to hire the provider you are connected with. A few questions can help you choose with confidence.
- Ask what license and insurance they carry, and check them with your state or city.
- Ask how they price water removal, drying and repair, and get it in writing.
- Ask whether they work with insurance paperwork, if you plan to file a claim.
- Ask what equipment they use and how they confirm materials are dry.
- Take your time with any contract, and do not sign anything you do not understand.
